(The camera opens into a packed arena. The fans go crazy as fireworks explode through the air and light up the stage. The camera pans over the crowd as Meltdown begins for the first time.)
Bryan- Ladies and gentlemen, welcome to the first ever GCW event, Meltdown! The suspense has been building ever since President Caldera’s press release announcing GCW’s opening, and we have finally arrived at the night we’ve all been waiting for! Fans, I’m James Bryan, sitting at ringside with my broadcast collegue, David Yale!
Yale- JB, it’s a pleasure to be here! I’ve been waiting for weeks for this night, and the suspense really couldn’t be any bigger. GCW is coming to you live, with a President that is hot off the heels of one of the most successful promotions of all time!
Bryan- There is definitely a past here between the President and his wrestlers, and the intensity has certainly been building, and we’ve reached the breaking point, right here on GCW’s maiden broadcast, Meltdown!
Yale- We’ve got a huge night ahead of us! We’ve got a huge Double-Jeopardy match tonight between four of GCW’s biggest names, not to mention a huge stipulation match between JD Billion and Desert Falcon!
Bryan- But first, we’re going to head to ringside for GCW’s first match ever, as Toad goes one on one with Big Dawg for the Hardcore title! Let’s go to ring announcer Joey Andrews!
(Who Let the Dogs Out hits and Big Dawg emerges from the back. He walks to the ring to a mild fan reaction.)
Andrews- The following contest is set for one fall, and is for the Global Championship Wrestling Hardcore title! Introducing first, weighing in at 265 pounds. . . Big Dawg!
Bryan- Big Dawg first arrived in Caldera’s former promotion shortly before it went defunct, and now he’s with us here and vying for the Hardcore title!
(Big Dawg steps through the ropes as Out With the Old plays. The fans stand in unison and give Toad a primarily positive reaction. Toad struts to the ring, smiling and waving to the fans. Toad hops into the ring and stares down Big Dawg.)
Andrews- And his opponent, weighing in at 310 pounds. . . Toad!
Yale- Toad was a former Hardcore and Tag champion in our former company, and by virtue of that fact, he’s earned a shot at the Hardcore title here tonight! Big Dawg and Toad have locked eyes, as the referee calls for the bell!
Bryan- Toad is the first to make a move, as he steps in toward Big Dawg! Dawg meets him in the center of the ring and they tie up! Toad has the size advantage, and pushes Dawg back into the corner!
Yale- The ref calls for a clean break, and Toad releases the hold! The ref backs off, and Toad quickly sticks Big Dawg with a forearm! What a great move!
Bryan- Toad does seem to lack in sportsmanship, at times. . . Toad continues pounding on Big Dawg, as Dawg collapses to the second turnbuckle! Toad lays in a few more stiff forearms, and backs out to celebrate!
Yale- The fans love this guy! Toad’s got things going his way, as he moves back in and lifts Big Dawg up! Toad swings him around and tosses him to the floor! Big Dawg lands hard, and slowly gets to his knees as Toad steps out to the ground.
Bryan- Dawg recovers as Toad searches under the ring. Toad is scanning under the ring, and finally pulls out a steel chair!
Yale- Who puts those things under there, anyway? Big Dawg finally gets up and turns to Toad, who readies a big chair shot! Toad swings, but Dawg ducks, and the chair connects with the steel ring post!
Bryan- Big Dawg charges up and spears Toad to the ground! Dawg begins hammering away with sharp right hands, as Toad struggles to protect himself! Dawg finally breaks off, and finds the steel chair!
Yale- Toad slowly stands, as Big Dawg prepares the chair! Toad stands up, and Dawg swings hard, bringing the chair down over Toad’s skull! What a shot! But Toad is still standing!
Bryan- Big Dawg raises the chair again, but Toad stops him with a boot to the gut! Big Dawg drops the chair, as Toad takes him down with a clothesline! Toad crawls over to the ring, and begins searching under the apron again!
Yale- Big Dawg is struggling to his knees, as Toad shuffles under the ring again! Toad finally emerges again, this time with. . . a table! Business is picking up here, as Big Dawg stands!
Bryan- Toad pulls the table out, and leans it against our announce table! He then moves to Big Dawg, and whips him toward the steel guardrail! But Dawg reverses, and sends Toad head over heels, over the barricade and into the crowd!
Yale- Security backs the fans up as Big Dawg sets the table up out here in front of us! Toad is slowly getting to his feet, as Big Dawg prepares the table, and makes his way to the guardrail!
Bryan- Toad is having trouble getting up after that fall, as Big Dawg makes his way to him, and nails him with a big right hand! Toad falls back, and Big Dawg hops over the rail!
Yale- Big Dawg lifts Toad up, but Toad counters him with a low blow! That was a low blow! Great move! Big Dawg is hunched over, as Toad steadies himself and clotheslines Dawg back over the rail and into the ring area again!
Bryan- Toad recovers and hops back into the ringside area, where Big Dawg is rising and finding his balance. Toad charges in with a big clothesline! But Big Dawg reverses, and powerslams Toad onto the floor!
Yale- There’s not much padding down there! What a move by Big Dawg! Dawg is down, slowly reaching for a cover! He tosses an arm over Toad’s chest, and the ref drops to count!
Bryan- ONE! TWO!! TH- Toad gets a shoulder up! What a great display of toughness!
Yale- Big Dawg is having trouble swallowing that one, as Toad tries to roll to his stomach! Big Dawg lifts Toad up with some effort, and scoops him over his shoulder! I think he’s going for the Dawg Bite!
Bryan- Big Dawg sets him up for his big neckbreaker, but Toad slides down his shoulder behind him, and hooks his head from behind! Toad lifts Big Dawg up, and drops him in a big reverse suplex! What a devastating move!
Yale- Big Dawg and Toad are both down and hurting, but Toad appears to be getting to his feet! Toad rises, and scoops Dawg up! Toad slides Big Dawg up onto the table, and steps up onto the apron!
Bryan- Toad is climbing the turnbuckle, as the fans go crazy! Big Dawg isn’t moving, and is lying prone on the table down on the floor! Toad is to the top turnbukle, and glaring down at Big Dawg!
Yale- Toad waves to the fans, and takes off! MY GOD, there’s the Toad Jam through a table! Big Dawg and Toad have both been decimated! But Toad landed on top after that big splash, and the ref drops to count!
Bryan- ONE! TWO!!! THREE!!!!! Toad wins it!
(The fans cheer as Toad slowly rolls off Big Dawg and collapses on the floor. The referee hands Toad his new Hardcore title belt, as Big Dawg clutches his chest.)
Andrews- Here is your winner, and the first ever GCW Hardcore Champion. . . Toad!!!
Yale- What an opening match! Toad has captured the Hardcore title, but Big Dawg put up one hell of a fight!
Bryan- And that was just a taste of things to come! Toad and Big Dawg have proven themselves here tonight in our opening bout, and we have lots more action coming your way!
Yale- Toad is heading to the back to celebrate his title win, as Big Dawg is helped to the back by the officials. Well, folks, up next we’ve got JD Billion going against Desert Falcon. But first, our production crew has put together a special package to introduce you to Global Championship Wrestling, and the man behind it.
(The camera fades into a distant shot of a packed arena. It is dimmed and in black and white, as a deep voice-over begins.)
Voice- Steven Caldera has risen from the bottom of the rankings to bring you Global Championship Wrestling. After first being picked up in the small ACWF wrestling promotion, Caldera won the world title, and soon becaome a part of the CWU. After a few short months, Caldera had full control of the company.
(The shot switches to that of an empty office space.)
Voice- But jealosy and differences of opinion lead to the dismissal of Caldera. But Caldera had grown powerful during his stay in the CWU, and with his newfound resources, he found the funding to open his own company. Today, that company, Global Championship Wrestling, opens, and begins a new era in sports-entertainment.
(The shot returns to the cheering crowd, and finally rests on Bryan and Yale.)
Bryan- Did that seem a bit one-sided to you?
Yale- What are you talking about? President Caldera is a genius, and he’s your boss, so you’d better respect him!
Bryan- Well, in any event, we’re about to head down to ringside, where we’ll see a special stipulation match between two relative newcomers, JD Billion and Desert Falcon.
Yale- This should be a good one! JD Billion has promised to pay Falcon a million bucks in hard cash if he loses, but if he wins, Falcon must publicly admit that Billion is the best in GCW.
Bryan- High stakes here, as we head back to Joey Andrews.
(*** hits and the fans boo as JD Billion makes his way to the ring. He is carrying a large suitcase, presumably filled with cash. He struts to the ring, stopping to hand the case to the time keeper for safe keeping.)
Andrews- The following contest is set for one fall. In this match, if JD Billion is victorious, Desert Falcon must publicly admit that Billion is the best. If Falcon is victorious, then Billion will award him with one million dollars in cash. Introducing first, weighing in at 236 pounds. . . JD Billion!
(Billion hops into the ring and waits in the corner. Blood Brothers hits and Desert Falcon heads to the ring.)
Andrews- And his opponent, weighing in at 195 pounds. . . Desert Falcon!
Yale- Desert Falcon has been rather quiet since his contract was signed, but tonight he has a chance to send a message to everyone, by beating JD Billion and winning a million dollars!
Bryan- Falcon steps through the ropes, and the ref calls for the bell! But wait, Billion is over to the ref, and he’s whispering something to him! The ref seems a bit confused, as Falcon charges in on Billion!
Yale- Falcon moves in with a few sharp rights! Wait, Billion dodges a shot, and rolls Falcon up! The ref counts! ONETWOTHREE! That was a fast count!
Bryan- But the ef is calling for the bell! What the hell just happened? Falcon is livid!
Andrews- Here is your winner. . . JD Billion! Desert Falcon must now publicly announce that Billion is the best in GCW!
Bryan- What the hell was that? Wait, Billion is to the ground, with the ref! Billion is opening that case, and he hands the ref a wad of cash! Billion bought the referee out! Falcon is standing in the ring in disbelief!
Yale- What a genius this guy Billion is! Now he’s got a mike, and he’s back in the ring!
Billion- Money can buy happiness, it’s true. And Falcon, what would make me truly happy, is for you to take this microphone, and tell me that I’m the best.
(Billion hands Falcon the mic, as the fans boo.)
Falcon- OK, JD. You are the best in GCW.
(Billion turns in happiness, waving at the crowd. But when he turns back, Falcon levels him with the microphone, much to the crowd’s pleasure.)
Yale- What an exchange that was!
Bryan- Well, I’d say that this thing between Billion and Falcon isn’t quite over! Falcon heads to the back, as that same sellout referee helps Billion out of the ring!
Yale- But just remember. . . Desert Falcon said it himself. . . Billion is the best!
Bryan- Well, fans, we’re finally here. One of the most anticipated nights in the history of the sport is about to be capped off by one of the most anticipated matches of all time!
Yale- We’re just moments away from the big Double-Jeopardy match. But before we go to ringside, we’re going to take you back a few months, and give you some background on these four superstars.
(The camera moves from ringside to a four-way split screen. In each corner there is an action shot of each wrestler. A deep voice-over begins.)
Voice- Four men are about to step into the ring tonight, and set the stage for the future of the company.
(The camera zooms in on the top left corner, and a shot of Gigas fills the screen.)
Voice- Gigas. The former CWU Intercontenintal Champion is using this transition period to step up to the plate, and go for what he has been gunning for throughout his career. . . The main event.
(The screen zooms back out to the four-way screen. It then zooms in on the bottom right corner, as a picture of Octavian fills the screen.)
Voice- Octavian. After making it publicly known that he has been aiding President Caldera, Octavian has made his way to the top through political propaganda and a ferocious Roman temper.
(Octavian fades back, and the screen now zooms in on the bottom left corner, and brings up Khan.)
Voice- Khan. The suicidal Asian warrior has made his way to the top using his death-defying aerial skills and his unholy alliance with the President. He has become one of the most feared men in the sport, and has arrived here to continue his path of destruction.
(Khan fades out, and the final, upper-right corner zooms in.)
Voice- Rich 'The Renegade' Rollins. Former two-time CWU Heavyweight champion, Rollins has been through it all, remaining loyal to the comany, but not the ownership. Rollins has proved himself to be a hardened veteran, and a force to be reckoned with.
(Rollins fades back out, and the screen fades to a plain black screen.)
Voice- Four men will collide tonight, and attempt to forever set their names in stone, and go down in the annals of time as the first man to dominate the new era.
(The dark screen fades into the stage area, where My Own Summer hits. The fans cheer as The Jhub emerges from the back, wearing his street clothes. He heads to the ringside area, and sits down at the announce table.)
Bryan- It appears as though we are being joined by the Jhub!
Yale- Great. . .
Bryan- Jhub, what are you doing here? You’re not in this match!
Jhub- First of all, I’m the Jhub, and the Jhub can do whatever he damn well pleases. I don’t answer to you. But I came down here to get a first hand look at a little GCW competition.
(*** hits and the fans cheer. Gigas emerges from behind the stage, carrying his Singapore cane. He heads to the ring and steps through the ropes.)
Andrews- The following contest is a Double-Jeopardy match! Introducing first, weighing in at 320 pounds. . . Gigas!
Bryan- Well, here we go! Gigas is in the ring, and he has got to be the underdog in this one. But the fans are behind him, and he seems confident that he can step up here tonight!
(Born to be Wild hits next, and the fans explode in cheers. The Renegade emerges from the back, and heads to the ring amid the cheers of the crowd.)
Andrews- And his opponent, weighing in at 225 pounds. . . Rich 'The Renegade' Rollins!
Yale- Listen to this reaction! I guess some people still remember who this guy is! Rollins will be facing off against Gigas here in the first part of this match!
(Rollins steps through the ropes and Gigas gets in his face. The two stare each other down, until Might of Rome hits. Gigas and Rollins break off and watch as Octavian emerges from the back, and walks to the ring amid the generous boos of the fans.)
Andrews- Introducing next, weighing in at 285 pounds. . . Octavian!
Bryan- Octavian and Kahn have built up tension as of late, and it’s all over winning the position of President Caldera’s right hand man. As of now, Khan remains by Caldera’s side. But Octavian has come up from the depths of the company, and proved himself to be a truly gifted athlete.
(Octavian remains on the outside, staring in at Rollins and Gigas. Finally, Debonair hits and the fans boo like crazy. Khan emerges slowly from the backstage area, and smoothly but swiftly makes his way to the ring.)
Andrews- And his opponent, weighing in at 270 pounds. . . Khan!
Yale- Khan has quickly become known as a truly lethal competitor! Octavian is definitely a ferocious athlete, but he’s got his hands full with this man tonight!
Jhub- And Khan’s got his hands full with certain parts of President Caldera’s anatomy. . .
Bryan- Well, that’s uncalled for.
(Khan stops short of the ringside area. In the ring, Gigas and Rollins begin the fight, and the bell rings.)
Bryan- Well, we’re underway! Gigas moves in on Rollins from behind, and clobbers him with a forearm! The bell rings, and this match is moving! Octavian moves up the ramp and meets Khan, and they begin exchanging right hands!
Yale- Gigas is crushing Rollins with big forearms to the spine, as Khan takes the advantage on Octavian! Octavian is staggered back from a few quick knife-edge chops, and Khan pursures him to the ring!
Bryan- Rollins has been taken down to one knee, as Gigas stands him up and whips him into the ropes! Rollins hits the ropes, but Octavian sticks an arm in and trips him up! Rollins turns to face him, as Khan comes up from behind and hits a mean dropkick to the back of his head!
Yale- Rollins turns back to Gigas, who is ready with another series of right hands! Rollins is staggered again, as Gigas whips him into the turnbuckle. Rollins hits hard, and Gigas follows him in!
Bryan- Gigas jumps, and lands a big splash! Meanwhile, Khan has Octavian on the outside! He whips the Italian Pretty Boy into the steel steps, and Octavian goes head over heels to the ground!
Jhub- Serious hang-time there from Octy!
Yale- Gigas has Rollins wide open, and he lays in a hard knife-edge chop! And another!
(The crowd screams “WHOO” along with the chops.)
Bryan- Khan hasn’t moved from his spot, as Octavian rights himself! Octavian is to his feet, as Khan charges! Khan leaps onto the apron and springs off, catching Octavian with a flying headscissors!
Yale- What agility from Khan! He tosses Octavian over and to the floor again! Meanwhile, Gigas whips Rollins into the opposite turnbuckle again! Gigas charges in, but Rollins sidesteps him, and he runs chest first into the turnbuckle!
Bryan- Khan has Octavian up again, and he scoops him up! Khan drops Octavian chest first over the steel guardrail! Meanwhile, Rollins has Gigas in the corner, and is turning things around with swift kicks to the midsection!
Yale- Now Khan has perched on the corner of the guardrail, as security tries to back the fans up! Octavian is still lying prone over the rail, as Khan takes off! MY GOD!
Bryan- Khan drops a leg over Octavian’s head, and Octavian falls back to the floor! Octavian is struggling for breath, as Khan recovers and leaps over the rail!
Jhub- As much as I enjoy Octavian in pain, I really wish he’d get off his ass and DO SOMETHING!
Yale- Hey there, Jhub, be careful what you say about Khan! He’s kicked your ass in the past,you know.
Jhub- Hey, looks what’s happening in the ring. . .
Bryan- Rollins pulls Gigas to the center of the ring and snapmares him over! Gigas lands sitting up, and Rollins kicks him in the back of the head! Wow!
Yale- Now Khan is back, and pursuing a crawling Octavian! Octavian is right here in front of us, helping himself up using the announce table! Khan makes his way over, and he locks eyes with the Jhub!
Bryan- Khan and Jhub are staring each other down, as Octavian recovers! Octavian reaches up and grabs Khan by the hair, sending him face first into the announce table!
Jhub- Finally, Octy does something right.
Yale- Octavian gives Khan an elbow to the back of the head! In the ring, Rollins has Gigas set in a tough rear chinlock, and he’s really cranking back! Now Octavian is to the timekeeper, and he’s got a steel chair!
Bryan- The ref is in the ring looking for a submission, so he can’t see this happening! Khan stands, and Octavian lays him out cold with the chair! What a shot! Octavian drops the chair to the ground, and lifts Khan up!
Yale- Khan stands quickly, though, and somehow begins firing right hands! Wait, now the Jhub is up! He’s got his chair in hand! He comes up from behind Khan, and cracks him over the head! Khan goes down hard!
Bryan- What the hell is the Jhub doing?! Rollins still has that chinlock on Gigas, as Jhub issues orders to Octavian! Octavian lifts Khan up, and pulls him up for a piledriver! MY GOD! He sits, and the Jhub spikes it! A spike piledriver onto Octavian’s steel chair!
Yale- That was two on one! No fair! Khan is down and out, and his neck might be broken! Octavian stands up to celebrate to the crowd! But the Jhub swings and crushes him with a steel chair shot, too!
Bryan- The Jhub has asserted himself in this match, as he returns here to our table! The paramedics are on their way out here to help Khan! Jhub, you just laid out both Khan and Octavian! You shouldn’y have done that!
Jhub- You’re right. Now my chair’s all dented. . .
Yale- The EMTs are putting a neck brace on Khan! He’s not moving! Rollins has released Gigas, and is checking out the action at ringside! Gigas is back up and observing from across the ring! Khan is being placed on a stretcher!
Bryan- This is terrible. Khan has been taken out in his first ever GCW event!
Yale- I hope you’re happy, Jhub!
Jhub- Oh, I’m happy. . . But this chair is really uncomfortable, now.
Bryan- Khan is being carted away, and Octavian is busted wide open! Gigas and Rollins have now turned their attention back to each other! They lock up in the center of the ring, and Rollins slips behind him!
Yale- Rollins has Gigas from behind, but Gigas counters with an elbow to the skull! Rollins backs off, and Gigas comes back around with a clothesline! Rollins goes down hard!
Bryan- Gigas lifts Rollins up and takes him to the turnbuckle! Gigas climbs up backward, pulling Rollins up in front of him! I think I know where this is going!
Yale- Octavian is up and trying to recover, as Gigas sets Rollins up on the turnbuckle! He’s going for that top rope powerbomb that he calls the Gigas Bomb!
Bryan- Gigas lifts Rollins over his head and jumps!! But Rollins slides down behind him, falling on the apron below! Gigas lands hard on his rear, and drops to the canvass! Gigas is down, as Rollins begins scaling the turnbuckle!
Yale- Gigas is lying prone in the ring, as Rollins readies himself on the top rope! The Renegade takes off, and drops a perfect Anarchist Elbow!!! He plants it, and covers Gigas! ONE!! TWO!! THREE!!!!
Bryan- Rollins has finished off Gigas! Gigas is gone, and I guess it’s come down to Rollins and Octavian!
Jhub- Octavian owes that spot to me.
Yale- Gigas slides out of the ring to the floor. He put up a good fight, but the former world champion was just too much for him! Octavian is still bleeding, as Rollins takes a breather! Octavian seems a bit reluctant to get in!
Jhub- Damn it, do I have to do everything?
Bryan- The Jhub is leaving the announce table again! The Jhub comes up from behind Octavian and slides him into the ring! The fans are loving it as the Renegade sees him, and moves in to attack!
Yale- The Jhub is back with us, now. Jhub, don’t you think you’ve done enough for one night?
Bryan- Rollins moves in and drops an elbow to Octavian! The Italian Stallion is hurting, as Rollins lifts him up! Rollins hooks him in a front facelock, and lifts him over into a big vertical suplex!
Yale- Rollins floats over, and the ref drops to count! ONE! TWO!! TH- Octavian gets a shoulder up! Rollins seems to disagree with the count, as Octavian crawls to the ropes and begind pulling himself up!
Jhub- Come on, Rich, finish this thing. My ass hurts.If only Octavian’s head wasn’t so hard, he wouldn’t have messed up my damn chair.
Bryan- Rollins moves in from behind Octavian, who is finally to his feet! Octavian’s face is streaming with blood, as Rollins whips him into the opposite corner! But Octavian reverses, catches Rollins under the arm, and hip-tosses him over!
Yale- Great move! Rollins goes down hard on his hip, and Octavian locks on a standing armbar! Rollins struggles to get out of it, but Octavian has it cinced in perfectly! Finally Octavian stands and releases him, dropping a leg over the Renegade’s arm!
Bryan- Octavian is showing his technical ability here, as Rollins rises to his knees! Octavian retreats to the corner for a breather, as Rollins gets to his feet! Octavian moves in from behind and hooks a full nelson!
Yale- Octavian lifts Rollins up for a full nelson slam! But Rollins counters by sliding through Octavian’s legs on the way down, and rolling him up in a victory roll! ONE! TWO!! TH- NO! Octavian gets out!
Bryan- Great maneuverability by Rollins! Octavian gets up and plants a falling dropkick right into the Renegade’s face! Rollins goes back hard, as Octavian glares back over our way at the Jhub!
Jhub- You just focus on the match, you European piece of crap. Yale- Hey, I’m half Italian!
Bryan- No, you’re not. Octavian moves back onto Rollins, who is trying to get off his back! Octavian drops a leg over the back of the Renegade’s head, and flips him over for a cover! ONE! TWO!! Kickout!
Yale- Rollins is hanging in there! Octavian pulls the Renegade up, and hooks him under the arms! Octavian pulls Rollins up and tosses him over his head! Beautiful belly to back suplex!
Bryan- Rollins is in serious trouble here, and Octavian looks to be in firm control! Rollins is still getting to his feet, as Octavian argues with the referee! Finally Octavian moves in. But Rollins stands, and levels Octavian with a superkick! It’s over!
Yale- Rollins nailed Octavian with that superkick, and both men are down! Rollins is slowly making his way towards Octavian!
(The crowd begins to boo loudly, as someone emerges from backstage and runs to the ring.)
Bryan- Wait, the fans see someone. . . Hey! It’s President Caldera! The owner of GCW is here!
Yale- Rollins finally covers Octavian! ONE! TWO!!! THRE- What the hell?!? Caldera just pulled the referee out of the ring!
Bryan- President Caldera has now interjected himself in this match! He’s shouting at the referee to leave! I think he fired him! On the first day!
Jhub- What the hell is this guy doing here?
Yale- Caldera has walked over here in front of us, and he’s picked up that steel chair! He’s climbing into the ring, where Rollins and Octavian both are rising! Caldera moves in, and swings the chair!
Bryan- Caldera just laid out Rollins! The Renegade is out cold, as the referee watches idly from the outside! He’s powerless to help, as Caldera and Octavian stomp away at Rollins! They’ve broken off, and they’re taunting the crowd!
Jhub- Damn it. . .
Yale- Rollins is slowly trying to pull himself up, as Caldera and the still-bloody Octavian celebrate! Wait, the Jhub has left our table here! He’s in the ring, helping the Renegade up!
Bryan- Caldera and Octavian spot him, as the Jhub stares them down! The Jhub has picked up the steel chair, and are warning Caldera and Octavian away! Caldera backs to the ropes and hops down, and is followed by Octavian!
