Meltdown Results 5-23-01

The show opens with a bang, and the crowd goes crazy. Bryan and Yale hype Shockwave, and prepare for a big night. President Caldera opens the show by coming to the ring. He congratualtes Rollins on his title win, but assures him he will not have the belt for long. He then asks the Jhub and Khan to make their way to the ring.
Khan and the Jhub step inside. The Jhub gets on the mike, and congratulates the System on their titles. He then says they can take their titles, and their System X, and shove them up their asses. The Jhub is out! Khan then briefly states the fact that he and Caldera have been together all along, and everyone is fools for not seeing it. Caldera then returns to the mike.
But he is interrupted as the Renegade walks out to the stage! Rollins trashes Caldera and his new Establishment, but for now Caldera blows him off. Caldera asks John Reed, Toxic, and Jordan to come to the ring. Only Toxic and Reed emerge. They walk past Rollins to the ring. Caldera says he is about to clear up their status with the Establishment. . . Losers aren't welcome, and Reed and Toxic are both losers! With that, Toxic decks Caldera! Reed joins in, but Khan and the Jhub fight them off. However, Rollins runs to the ring, and chases off the new Establishment!

After a commercial break, we return for Jake Jennings vs. the Ikon. They both head to the ring, as Jake's brother Larry sits at the announce table. The match goes back and forth with some breif brawling moves, but Jennings quickly hits the Spike, a spinebuster. He covers for the easy win. WINNER- Jake Jennings via pinfall

After another break, we go backstage where Kevin Jacobs is with Shane Lane and Hiroshima Genryu. Lane says he should be the TV champ, and he was robbed. Tonight, the match was going to be all about him. As he leaves, he walks right into Luke Hanson. Lane simply shoves Hanson aside and heads for the ring. Capo and Khris Krowe arrive next. The match begins, and it goes back and forth for a while. Suddenly, Capo hits Hell's Movie! But Lane refuses to make the count. . . He simply poses for a while. Capo gets in Lane's face, but Krowe rolls him up from behind. Again, Lane refuses to count. Both competitors begin to get frustrated with Lane. Finally, after yet another refused count, Luke Hanson runs in from the back! Hanson steps into the ring and begins to pound on Lane. Genryu makes his way in and runs Hanson off, but the point was made. WINNER- No Contest

After a break, we return for the tag title match. Flame Time enters first, then the champs. Assassin One and Mikado dominate early with quick, fluid like tags. Freak and Flame make a brief comeback, until Mikado takes control with the Finishing Touch. Flame is down from the move, but so is Mikado. Mikado makes his way to Assassin One for the tag, as Flame gets to Freak. But Freak refuses to tag in to face the big man. Flame is left hanging, and Assassin One finishes Flame off with the Assassinator. WINNERS- And still tag team champions, Assassin One and Miakdo via Pinfall. . . After the match, Flame time begins to argue. Flame ends up hitting Freak with the Big Red Bomb, leaving as the fans cheer.

We then head to the cruiserweight match. Jordan comes down to the boos of the crowd, and says that the Establishment's matters are of no concern to him. He is the champion, and he now represents his home country of Canada. Hardy runs in and the match begins. Jordan immediately takes over with his technical skills, focusing on Hardy's bruised ribs. Hardy manages to stay in it, until he takes control, and sets up for the Swanton Bomb! But a fan jumps the barricade and shoves Hardy off the turnbuckle. Jordan hits the Canadian Suplex on Hardy for the win. The fan then removes his hat. . . It's Chameleon that cost Hardy the match! WINNER- And still cruiserweight champion, Chris Jordan via Pinfall

Finally comes the main event. Khan and Jhub head to the ring, accompanied by Caldera. Rollins is next, but waits for his mystery partner. . .Out With the Old hits, and it's the Toad!! The World and Hard*core champs head to the ring. The match starts with Toad and Jhub. Toad stares Jhub down, as Jhub trash talks him. Jhub slaps Toad, but Toad still simply stares. Jhub slaps him again, and Toad clotheslines th Jhub down! Toad gos to work on Jhub, before Jhub tags out, and Khan takes over on Toad. Finally, Toad gets an opening, and tags in Rollins. Rollins is on fire as he dismantles the Establishment. However, the Jhub distracts the referee, and Caldera hits Rollins with a chair! Rollins goes down, and Khan covers! Rollins gets a shoulder up, but the Establishment is in control. Finally, the Jhub distracts the referee again, as Caldera tosses Khan a chair for an arabian facebuster on Toad. But in from the back comes Octavian! Octavian shoves Khan to the floor, as the Jhub rushes in. Octavian hits the Jhub with a chair, as Toad mounts the turnbuckle. Toad hits the Toad Jam, and pins the Jhub for the win! WINNERS- Toad and Rich Rollins via Pinfall
