(The camera opens to a packed arena. The crowd explodes as fireworks and pyro light up the stage. The camera flies over the fans, zooming in on signs such as “Jhub=Sellout” and “Rollins 4 Ever.” The camera finally rests on the announce team.)
Bryan- Welcome everyone to another edition of
Meltdown! I’m James Bryan alongside
David Yale, and we are hot off the heels of our re-vamp of Oblivion!
Yale- That’s right, and it was a great night! Though we weren’t at ringside for it, we saw
President Caldera defeat Octavian in the middle of the ring!
Bryan- That match got rather chaotic, however, as
we saw Mr. Danger misread a chair shot, and lay out the world champion! But Mr. Danger, Rollins, and Octavian have
regrouped, I’m sure, and are ready for tonight!
Yale- We’re going to see the Jhub take on John
Reed, Jimmy Taylor gets a television title shot, Mike Hardy and Chameleon
continue their best of seven series, and more!
(Suddenly,
Born to be Wild hits, and the crowd erupts in cheers. Rich Rollins walks to the ring, title belt in hand. He steps through the ropes, celebrates with
the fans, and grabs a microphone.)
Rollins- Now, there may have been a slight mishap on
Oblivion, but it really doesn’t matter.
Mr. Danger missed, and though I may have walked away with a few
stitches, and Caldera may have walked away with his arm raised, but there was
no real harm done. All Caldera managed
to do was to prove what a sneaky, underhanded runt he really is!
(The
crowd goes crazy as Rollins smiles.)
Rollins-
Now I thought I’d come out here and
share my feelings on a few things, seeing as how I’m not fighting tonight. First of all, Deadly Games, battle royal,
winner gets a title shot. Now,
obviously I won’t be in this match, but just for the record, it doesn’t matter
who walks out on top. This belt is open
to anyone who wants a shot at it, and whoever wins that match will have a hell
of a fight if they want it.
(The
crowd cheers.)
Rollins- As for my match that night, as I’m sure I’ll
be defending that night, I’m still looking for an opponent. So, if anyone. . .
(American
Psycho hits, and the crowd erupts again.
Toxic walks to the ring, microphone in hand. He steps through the ropes, and stares at Rollins. Rollins seems confused, but not
intimidated.)
Toxic- Now Rich, I’m not out here for any cheap
shots. Only a friendly challenge. You and I may know each other better than
anyone, and I’d like to lock up with you once more.
(The
crowd cheers as Rollins considers this.)
Rollins- You know, we do know each other pretty damn
well, Toxic, and I must say, I would like to step into this ring with you
again. So. . .
(Rollins
is about to extend his hand to Toxic when Physical hits. The crowd boos like crazy as President
Caldera emerges from behind the curtain, and stops on the stage.)
Caldera- Now you two should really know better than
that. You know-
(The
crowd begins chanting “asshole!
Asshole!”)
Caldera- SHUT THE HELL UP!
(The
crowd boos, but quiets.)
Caldera- You know that nothing goes down in this
company without my say so. And while it
would be nice to see you two beat the hell out of each other, it isn’t going to
happen at Dangerous Games.
(The
crowd boos.)
Caldera- Because you see, I already have an opponent
selected for you, Rich. He’s one of the
top stars here in GCW. He’s an
incredible athlete, and has a keen business sense. So, without further ado, I present to you the number one
contender to the World Title. . . The Jhub!
(The
crowd boos like hell as Messiah hits, and the Jhub walks to the stage. He smiles, staring at Rollins and Toxic.)
Jhub- Surprise, surprise. I’ll bet you didn’t see that one coming, did
you?
(The
crowd boos.)
Jhub- You know, Rich, I’ve been looking forward to
this for a long time. The Jhub against
the Renegade. I really can’t wait. Now, our esteemed President has allowed me
the honor of informing you of a little stipulation for our match at Dangerous
Games. The main event, you and me, one
on one, will have a special guest referee.
(The
crowd boos, sensing a screw job.)
Jhub- And that man is. . .
(The
Jhub takes a few steps back, and points at Caldera. The crowd cheers, confusing Caldera a bit. Caldera turns to see Mr. Danger’s face on
the MegaTron, looking down on him.
Caldera jumps in fury, as Danger’s voice booms over the speakers.)
Danger- I’ve been waiting for you two to shut up
long enough for me to get my two cents in!
(The
crowd cheers.)
Danger- Jhub, you are right, there will be a special
referee for the main event at Dangerous Games.
But it will most certainly not be President Caldera!
(More
cheers.)
Danger- After all, the President does have most of
the legal powers in this company, but it’s the Commissioner that has the power
to assign referees! And seeing as how
I’m the commissioner, I think I’ll name the referee myself!
(More
cheers.)
Danger- So the special referee for that match will
be. . . ME!
(The
crowd goes nuts as Caldera throws a tantrum on stage, and Rollins nods in
agreement.)
Danger- I’ll be there to make sure things go down
the way they should! Now, as for the
Jhub being the number one contender, I must say I disagree with that. So next week, right here on Meltdown, the Jhub
will face. . . Toxic! And the winner
will face the Renegade at Deadly Decisions for the World Heavyweight Title!
(The
crowd goes crazy, as the Jhub nervously looks down at Toxic.)
Danger- So you boys can hit the showers. Because the days of the President’s power
abuse are over. The Caldera era is
ending, and the Danger era is beginning!
After all, the event is named Dangerous Games, and that’s what it’ll
be! So you two enjoy the rest of you
night.
(The
crowd goes nuts as Take a Look Around hits, and Danger fades from the
MegaTron. Caldera and Jhub head to the
locker room, defeated. Rollins and
Toxic nod at each other, wave to the fans, and head to the back.)
Bryan- How about that exchange!
Yale- Ever since that damn Mr. Danger arrived,
he’s been nothing but trouble. He can’t
do that, can he?
Bryan- It appears that he can, David! Well, fans, last Sunday on Oblivion,
Goldenboy Jimmy Taylor earned a Television title shot, and tonight he faces
Capo for the belt!
(Clean
hits, and Jimmy Taylor emerges to a mixed reaction. He struts to the ring, and steps through the ropes.)
Andrews- The following contest, set for one fall, is
for the GCW Television championship!
Introducing first, from Phoenix, Arizona, he weighs in at 225 pounds. .
. ‘Goldenboy’ Jimmy Taylor!
(Clean
fades out, and Demons Surround Me hits next.
The crowd boos loudly as Capo walks to the ring.)
Andrews- And his opponent, from Cleveland, Ohio, he
weighs in at 257 pounds, and he is the GCW Television champion. . . Capo!
Bryan- Capo steps through the ropes, and there’s
the bell! Taylor moves right in, and
Capo gets on the defensive! Capo and
Taylor exchange blows, and Capo takes over!
Capo shoots Taylor off into the ropes, but Taylor comes back with a
shoulder block!
Yale- Capo goes down, and Taylor is on the move
again! He jumps over Capo, who springs
to his feet! Capo takes Taylor over
with an arm drag, but Taylor is right back up!
Bryan- Taylor gets to his feet, and nails Capo with
a dropkick! Capo is down, and Taylor is
in control! And the fans are starting
to rally behind him!
Yale- Taylor heads for Capo, ties him up, and
flips him into a Texas Cloverleaf!
Taylor is rearing back on Capo, and already Taylor’s technical skills
are shining through! Taylor pulls as
hard as he can, as Capo screams in pain!
Bryan- Capo is inching his way to the ropes, but
Taylor is doing a good job of keeping him in good ring positioning! Finally, Capo reaches out to the ropes, and
grabs hold! Taylor breaks the hold!
Yale- Capo slowly gets to his feet, and Taylor
moves in! But Capo rakes Taylor’s eyes,
and Taylor is blinded! Capo hooks
Taylor up, and hits a vertical suplex!
Taylor is down, as Capo heads for the turnbuckle!
Bryan- Capo climbs to the top, and measures Taylor
off! The champ flies. . . and hits a
guillotine leg drop! Taylor is hurting,
as Capo covers! ONE! TWO!!
THR- The Goldenboy gets a
shoulder up!
Yale- Capo argues the count, but Taylor got out
fair and square! Capo lifts Taylor up
again, and sends him into the ropes!
Taylor bounces back, and Capo meets him with a kick to the gut! And there’s the setup for Hell’s Movie!
Bryan- Capo has Taylor hooked, but Goldenboy has it
well scouted! He’s got the ropes hooked
with his elbow, and Capo can’t get him over!
Finally, Taylor shoves Capo off, and Capo flies onto his back!
Yale- Taylor quickly moves in, and steps into
Capo! He’s setting him up for the
Masterlock! Taylor twists around, and
locks it in! There’s the figure
four! Capo is in serious trouble here!
Bryan- This one could be over early! But, wait a minute, who’s this?!
(The
crowd is cheering the Masterlock, but Khris Krowe runs to the ring.)
Yale- That’s the Legacy Khris Krowe! Khris Krowe is here, and in the ring! Taylor doesn’t see him! Krowe runs in and drops a leg over Taylor’s
face, breaking the hold! This match is
going to be thrown out!
(The
crowd boos as the bell rings. Capo is
released, and he slides out to grab his belt.
Krowe pursues him, however.)
Bryan- Krowe is here for the Television title! Krowe is chasing after Capo, who is high-tailing
it to the back! Jimmy Taylor may have
been screwed big time here!
Yale- Oh, please, Capo was just about to counter
the figure four! That stupid Masterlock
is no match for the Television champion!
Bryan- Well, surely we’ll be seeing more of them
soon enough!
Yale-
But we have another great match in the Hardy/Chameleon feud coming up.
Bryan-
And this time, there are no rules.
Andrews-
The following contest is scheduled for one fall, and is a no disqualifications
match. Introducing first, weighing in
at 222 lbs., hailing from Cameron, North Carolina, Michael Hardy!
{I
disappear plays and Hardy walks out
onto the stage. He has a garbage can
full of goodies.)
Bryan-
Hardy looks very prepared for his match here tonight.
Andrews-
And his opponent, weighing in at 212 lbs, hailing from Las Vegas, Nevada,
Chameleon!
{2001
hits and Hardy waits for Chameleon to appear.}
Yale-
Where's Chameleon?
Bryan-
I don't know. But Hardy is look for
some more weapons underneath the ring here and--What was that sound?
Yale-
It sounded like metal hitting skull.
Look! Hardy is out on the
ground!
Bryan-
Here comes Chameleon from under the ring!
He has a road sign in hand! And
it's dented.
Yale-
He was hiding under the ring! Chameleon
goes for the quick cover! ONE TWO THR
No Hardy gets the shoulder up.
Bryan-
Who knows what's going to happen with these to young superstars under no rules.
Yale-
Chameleon picks Hardy up and hits him over the head again. And again!
And once more! That sign is
pretty much done for.
Bryan-
Chameleon realizes this and tosses it aside.
He grabs Hardy and hits a few forearm shots. He goes for another, but Hardy blocks!
Yale-
He blocks another, another, and another!
He fires back with his own right hands!
Bryan-
Hardy whips Chameleon over into the barrier and walks over to his can of
goods. He reaches in and pulls out a
kendo stick.
Yale-
Chameleon is up and charges. He didn't
realize Hardy had that kendo stick and gets nailed in the abdomen.
Bryan-
Hardy brings it down across Chameleons back.
He brings that kendo stick up, and down again, across the lower back.
Yale-
He slides the kendo stick into the ring and climbs in himself. Chameleon climbs to his feet, and Hardy has
the stick again.
Bryan-
Hardy bounces of the ropes, and dives through the ropes towards Chameleon. But Chameleon had the garbage can! He nailed Hardy right in the head!
Yale-
Chameleon rolls Hardy into the ring and shoves Joey Andrews off of his chair
and takes the chair.
Bryan-
Chameleon scales the turnbuckle and waits for Hardy to stand. Hardy does, and Chameleon tosses him the
chair.
Yale-
Hardy catches it and Chameleon dropkicks it into Hardy's face! He covers!
ONE TWO THREE!! NO!!!!!! The ref
says Hardy got the shoulder up!
Bryan-
It looked like a three count to me.
Chameleon is arguing with the ref.
And-- NO!!!!! Chameleon shoves
him between his legs!
Yale-
Chameleon picks him up and gives him a sit down powerbomb! He is standing next to him, staring.
Bryan-
But Hardy is up and has that chair! He
runs towards the ropes and gains speed, and Chameleon turns around.
Yale-
Hardy swings and connects with a vicious chair shot to the head! He covers!
But the ref is out!
{Crowd
yells ONE TWO THREE FOUR FIVE SIX}
Bryan-
Hardy had this thing won twice over. He
is up, trying to revive the ref, but the ref won't come to. Hardy pushes the ref to the corner and moves
back onto Chameleon.
Yale-
He picks Chameleon up, and executes a DDT onto the chair. Hardy now positions the chair onto
Chameleon's chest.
Bryan-
Hardy scales the turnbuckle and stands straight up. OH MY GOD! Hardy just hit
the Swanton Bomb onto the chair, onto Chameleon!
Yale-
Hardy covers. But the ref still isn't
alert. Hardy walks over and drags the
ref to Chameleon.
Bryan-
Hardy covers again. The ref is
stirring.
ONE……………………..TWO…………………THR-Chameleon barely got his left shoulder off of
the canvas!
Yale-
How did he do that?! Hardy cannot
believe it! Hardy picks Chameleon up
and whips him into the ropes. Chameleon
comes back and ducks a clothesline.
Bryan-
Chameleon comes back and dropkicks Hardy.
Hardy falls between the second and third rope to the floor and Chameleon
follows him out.
Yale-
Chameleon grabs a garbage can lid from the floor and smacks Hardy over the head
with it.
Bryan-
Chameleon brings that aluminum weapon across the back of Hardy's skull again
and once more for good measure.
Yale-
Chameleon is taking control of this match.
He tosses Hardy into the ring and climbs back in himself.
Bryan-
Hardy climbs to his feet and takes a right hand by Chameleon. Chameleon kicks Hardy in the gut and shoves
him in between his legs.
Yale-
Chameleon hoists Hardy onto his shoulders and executes a Sit Down
Powerbomb! He covers! ONE TWO THR-- Hardy got the shoulder up!
Bryan-
Chameleon is pissed! He climbs out of
the ring and grabs the rings steps.
Chameleon tosses the steps into the ring and rolls himself back in.
Yale-
Chameleon stacks the steps up and drops that bent chair next to them. He picks Hardy up and climbs to the top of
the stairs.
Bryan-
He won't! Chameleon gets Hardy on his
shoulders and hits a Sit Down Powerbomb onto the chair from the steel steps!
Yale-
Cover! ONE TWO THREE! He got him!
Andrews-
Here is your winner, Chameleon!
Bryan- Chameleon has won this thing, and the score
is tied! Chameleon and Hardy each have
one fall apiece in this best of seven series of theirs, and things are getting
more and more intense every week!
Yale- You’d better believe this one’s personal! Well, fans, as Chameleon heads for the back
victorious, we’re going to head to ringside for Toxic against Shane Lane.
(American
Psycho hits, and the crowd goes crazy.
Toxic heads for the ring, looking intense.)
Andrews- The following contest is set for one
fall. Introducing first, he weighs in
at 295 pounds. . . Toxic!
(Toxic
steps over the top rope and into the ring.
The crowd immediately begins to boo, as Freak on a Leash hits. They expect Shane Lane, but nobody emerges.)
Andrews- And his opponent, from Beverly Hills,
California, he weighs in at 210 pounds. . . Shane Lane!
Bryan- Well, Lane’s music is playing, he’s
scheduled to face Toxic here, but where is he?
Yale- I have no idea! They’ve stopped playing his music!
(Toxic
looks frustrated in the ring, as the referee rings the bell.)
Bryan- I guess they’re starting the match, and are
going to count Lane out!
(The
crowd cheers happily as the referee finishes his count, and the bell rings
again. Toxic’s arm is raised, but Toxic
looks upset.)
Andrews- Here is your winner, Toxic!
Bryan- Well, Toxic has won this match by forfeit,
but the real story is where is Shane Lane?
(Suddenly,
an image flashes on the MegaTron. It is
the backstage area, where Shane Lane and Luke Hanson are in the middle of an
intense fight.)
Yale- Hey, there he is! We’ve got a fight in the back!
(Officials
appear on the scene, as Hanson and Lane continue to fight it out. The referees manage to break Hanson and Lane
up, as Hanson slowly turns to walk away.
Suddenly, out of the corner of the screen, a steel chair flies in,
taking Hanson down. The camera pans
over to see Hiroshima Genryu, having just laid out the US champion.)
Lane- See that, Fueler? You ain’t got what it takes to run with the big dogs! Come on. . .
(Lane
and Genryu triumphantly walk away, leaving Hanson to be attended to by the
officials.)
Yale- That was a great plan by Shane Lane! Hanson may have cost him his match with
Toxic, but Lane won the battle! Hanson
is left lying, and Shane Lane is the last man standing!
Bryan- That was still a cheap attack by
Genryu! But Genryu and Lane will face
System X later this week at Oblivion!
Well, fans, in just a few short moments, John Reed will take on the Jhub
in a one on one contest! Both men have
expressed their desires to keep this thing one on one, but what are the chances
of that happening?
Yale- You don’t give the Jhub enough credit,
JB! The Jhub is a world-class athlete,
and unlike Toxic and Reed, he doesn’t need the Establishment to do his dirty
work for him!
(Voodoo
hits, and the crowd cheers. John Reed
walks to the ring, Rachel staying behind in the back.)
Andrews- The following contest is set for one
fall. Introducing first, from Detroit,
Michigan, weighing in at 275 pounds. . . John Reed!
(Reed
steps through the ropes as Voodoo fads out.
Suddenly, Messiah hits, and the crowd explodes with boos. The Jhub confidently walks to the ring, and
trash talks Reed on his way.)
Andrews- And his opponent, from Stamford, Connecticut,
weighing in at 278 pounds. . . The Jhub!
Bryan- Next week here on Meltdown, the Jhub takes
on Toxic for the number one contendership to the world title! But for now the Jhub must get past Reed!
Yale- The Jhub steps through the ropes, and
there’s the bell! Reed moves right in
on the Jhub, and they exchange blows!
Reed takes control, and whips the Jhub into the ropes! Reversal by Jhub!
Bryan- Reed bounces off the ropes, and Jhub catches
him with a back elbow! Reed is
staggered, as the Jhub charges with a clothesline! But Reed sidesteps him and shoves Jhub into the ropes!
Yale- Jhub bounces back, and Reed sends him flying
with a back body drop! The Jhub springs
right back to his feet, but Reed takes him down with a headlock takeover, and
hold the Jhub down!
(The
crowd applauds.)
Bryan- Reed holds the Jhub down, but he may be
underestimating the Jhub’s technical skills!
The Jhub reverses Reed into a hammerlock, and pulls him to his feet! Reed counters with a few quick back elbows,
and the Jhub releases him!
Yale- Reed springs off the ropes, and bounces
back! The Jhub turns to catch a
dropkick from Reed, and the Jhub flies out to the floor! Reed wastes no time in pursuing the
Jhub! The Jhub gets to his feet, and
Reed takes him by the head!
Bryan- Reed leads the Jhub over to our announce
table, and sends him headfirst into the monitor! The Jhub falls to the floor, and Reed begins mercilessly stomping
away at the Jhub’s midsection!
Yale- The Jhub scrambles for higher ground, and
slides back into the ring! Reed follows
him right back in, but the Jhub is waiting!
The Jhub meets Reed with a few quick right hands, and staggers him!
Bryan- The Jhub moves Reed back into the corner,
and whips him hard to the opposite side!
Reed bounces back out, and the Jhub follows it up with a monstrous
clothesline! Reed goes down hard, as
the Jhub stares out at the crowd!
(The
crowd boos as the Jhub smiles at the fans.)
Yale- The Jhub lifts Reed back up, and sends him
into the ropes! Reed bounces back, and
the Jhub lifts him up with a body press!
What a move! Jhub drops Reed
right on his face!
Bryan- The Jhub now heads for Reed’s feet, and
steps through! He’s going for a
sharpshooter! The Jhub is trying to
turn him, but Reed is fighting it with all he’s got! The Jhub almost has him. . .
It’s on!! The Jhub turns Reed
over!
Yale- But Reed is too close to the ropes! Reed reaches out and hooks the ropes! But the Jhub won’t break the hold! The ref gives him the five count, and
finally the Jhub releases Reed! The
Jhub gets right back on him, though, and lifts him to his feet!
Bryan- The Jhub takes Reed to the center of the
ring, and hits a side Russian leg sweep!
Jhub floats over for the cover!
ONE! TWO!! THR-
Near fall!
Yale- Reed barely gets a shoulder up, but the Jhub
isn’t wasting his time getting back on Reed!
The Jhub lifts Reed up, and drops him in a back breaker! Reed may be nearing the end of the road
here, as the Jhub covers again!
Bryan- ONE!
TWO!! Another kickout! Reed may be kicking out, but he’s using a
lot of energy doing it! The Jhub pulls
Reed to the center of the ring, flips him over, and locks on a single leg crab!
Yale- The Jhub is still punishing Reed’s lower
back, setting him up for another sharpshooter!
Reed refuses to give this one up, though! Reed is screaming in pain from this crab so excellently executed
by the Jhub!
Bryan- The Jhub may not be the excellence of
execution, but he knows his way around the ring! Finally, the Jhub releases Reed, and lifts him up again! The Jhub backs Reed into the corner, and
whips him hard to the opposite turnbuckle!
Yale- The Jhub follows him in! But Reed gets a boot up in the Jhub’s
face! The Jhub is staggered, as Reed
charges out with a clothesline!
(The
crowd goes nuts as Reed takes the Jhub down, and both men lie motionless in the
ring.)
Bryan- Reed has a great opportunity here! Both men are slowly to their feet, and Reed
scoops the Jhub up! This could be the
cradle piledriver we’ve seen so many times!
Yale- Oh no!
Wait, the Jhub reverses! He
slides down Reed’s back, and Reed turns around! The Jhub drops him with a double leg takedown, and steps through
again! He’s got him over. . .
SHARPSHOOTER!
Bryan- The sharpshooter is on a second time! The Jhub has Reed in the center of the ring,
and there’s nowhere to go! There it
is! Reed is tapping out!
(The
crowd boos hellaciously as the referee calls for the bell, and Messiah hits
again. But the Jhub does not break the
hold.)
Andrews- Here is your winner, the Jhub!
Bryan- The Jhub has won the damn match, but he
refuses to break the sharpshooter! Reed
is screaming I pain, but the Jhub refuses to let Reed go!
(The
crowd continues to boo until they spot Rich Rollins and Mr. Danger headed to the
ring. They explode with cheers as they
charge to the ring.)
Yale- Oh, no, what are they doing here?!
Bryan- Here comes the cavalry! Rollins runs into the ring, and the Jhub
breaks the hold to meet him! Mr. Danger
is out here grabbing a steel chair!
Yale- Rollins and the Jhub are really going at it,
but Rollins is taking over! The Jhub
swings with a clothesline, but Rollins ducks it! The Jhub turns around, and Rollins delivers a SUPERKICK! The Jhub is down!
Bryan- All right!
The Jhub is the recipient of a superkick, as Mr. Danger slides into the
ring with the chair! Rollins lifts the
Jhub up, and holds him for Danger!
Danger has the Jhub as an easy target!
Yale- This isn’t fair! Somebody stop this!
(The
crowd is going crazy, until Danger swings the chair. The Jhub ducks out of the way, and Danger lays Rollins out. The Jhub slowly slides out of the ring, as
Danger checks on Rollins.)
Bryan- What?!
Damn it, Danger missed again!
Yale- This guy’s got pretty bad aim, JB! That’s twice he’s laid the Renegade out!
Bryan- And The Jhub is sneaking away! He got lucky here tonight!
(The
crowd continues to watch in confusion as Rollins sits up, simply staring at
Danger is disbelief. Danger tries to
apologize, as Rollins simply looks at him.)
Bryan- The Jhub has defeated John Reed, who may
need medical attention! Mr. Danger and
Rich Rollins have had yet another miscommunication! Fans, we’re out of time!
Join us this Sunday for another edition of Oblivion!
(The
show fades out as the Jhub raises his arms in victory, and Rollins has a few
words with Danger.)
