The show
opens to President Caldera walking out.
He says that Shane Lane will defend his title against a mystery opponent
at the next weeks Meltdown. Lane comes
out and demands to know who he is fighting.
Caldera refuses and walks to the back.
Lane looks mad as he leaves.

The number
one contenders match starts out with Hanson and Jhub teaming against Rollins
and Reed. Jhub hits a few consecutive
suplexes on Reed. Hanson then hits The
DeFeuler on Rollins and rolls him out of the ring. He turns around and takes a superkick from Reed. Reed gets a two count that is broken up by
Jhub. Reed and Hanson both double team
Jhub and hit a double powerbomb. Jhub
rolls out of the ring and Hanson and Reed go at it. Reed goes for a clothesline but Hanson ducks and the ref gets
knocked out. Reed hits the Cradle
Tombstone on Hanson but there isn’t a ref to count. Reed picks Hanson up again and hits a few german suplexes. Hanson blocks a few punches and hits Reed
with the DeFeuler. He rolls out of the
ring and grabs his Singapore cane and comes back into the ring. He picks Reed up and whips him into the
ropes. When Reed comes back, Hanson
hits him in the head with the cane as the ref comes to. Hanson tosses the cane to the corner as the
ref looks over and makes the three count.
After the match Reed and Hanson trade blows. Reed finally gets the advantage in the shodown and grabs his
bat. Reed levels Hanson and walks to
the back. WINNER- Luke Hanson via
pinfall
