1. What is GCW? -Chances are, if you’re looking at this site right now, you know what this is. But, in case you don’t allow us to enlighten you. GCW is an e-federation, in which people post roleplays, or in-character interviews, in order to try to win matches.
2. How is GCW run?
-GCW is a bit different form most e-feds. President Caldera usually favors storylines over individual wins and losses. In other words, if somebody loses a match, but it furthers the ultimate storyline and enhances their character, it is good for the character, and the loss should not be considered serious. This is why we do not keep records in GCW. But why, then, should one roleplay? Roleplays DO affect each win or loss. Wins and losses are decided MOSTLY on roleplaying. However, if an opportunity is seen to enhance a character through a loss, despite their better roleplaying abilities, occasionally the character will lose. This is done only when the loss will enhance the character’s status. EXAMPLE: Guy A is better than Guy B, and they are feuding. However, Guy B defeats Guy A when Guy C runs in. After the match, Guy A beats the hell out of Guy B, leaving Guy B to drown in a pool of his own blood. Guy C makes a getaway. This leaves Guy A with a better feud with Guys A and C, and he leaves on top. Therefore, the loss was not as much of a factor.
3. Who should apply?
Anyone who understands and accepts the differences of GCW should apply. Most everyone is accepted. However, GCW usually has a no-tolerance policy; in other words, we do not tolerate people who break the rules, or who let their egos disrupt the environment. GCW is a friendly place, and there is no reason for anyone to have a big head about roleplaying ability. Basically, if you think you’re going to walk in here and win the world title right away, then you are not going to be happy here. If management spots an egomaniac, occasionally they’ll job them just to test to see how they react. Most of the time, people quit after one loss. If your ego is easily wounded, or if you are not serious about committing to GCW, don’t apply.
4. How long will it take me to get to the top?
GCW has a policy that people usually have to ‘pay their dues.’ This means that nobody will walk in and go straight to the top. However, is talent is spotted, a top spot can be earned rather quickly. The point is, the management likes to really know characters and know that they are committed before they give them a run at the top. Nobody will go for the world title before they are trusted and have proven themselves.
5. What are some of the features of GCW?
GCW has a sleek front page design, and includes Poser pics and MIDI theme music for all dedicated roleplayers. All wrestlers get a bio on the roster, but due to the time and work required for the advanced features, roleplayers must show dedication in order to recieve Poser pics and music. We also include some great informative resources on the front page as well.
The GCW store is another innovative feature. In it are wrestler autobiographies, written by the characters themselves. Also included are shirts and other merchandise. To earn merchandise for your character, you must prove yourself as a potential profit maker. If you are doing well, your character will earn merchandise. Also, the better you do, the more your merchandise is worth. So watch the Store, to see how well your character is selling.
6. What makes GCW so great?
Simply put, GCW is a fun atmosphere. The rules are not very restrictive, and management is friendly. The cards are hand-written, and storylines planned by the President and Commissioner. Together, Caldera and Danger make up one of the top creative teams on the internet. Suggestions are always taken. GCW is a fun, exciting fed, and by far one of the greatest environments to work in.
